Rising up with Beef and Tequila can be a deadly early morning combination but mix it up with live music and local musicians, it just makes sense for one last time. On August 26th, Stingers Bar hosted its last Beef Tequila Sunrise and the outcome of people pouring in was astounding! I am positive some were playing hooky from work, maybe?
Brad Pfirrman, whom in 2012 was voted Best Radio Personality on local radio station KWSS 93.9, has bid farewell to the station that he served listeners for 7 1/2 years and KFMA 102.1 in Tucson is scooping him up, how fortunate for them! Beef Vegan is known among the local music scene for his arduous work with promoting local shows, local artists, and characters. His creation of The Monday Morning Record Club (playing an entire album from beginning to end) will be missed and Marc Norman (the hummer) and FML are a few of his crazy antics that he has created among having countless of local and visiting musicians stop by the studio for a one to one conversations of sorts. The farewell soiree brought out some of our finest local artists and some grouped together to sing special dedicated songs to Beef. It was a flow of people coming and going, lots of merriment, and lots of hugs with goodbye tears. Phoenix music scene is thankful for Beef Vegan and luckily KWSS have Dani Cutler and Brandi Fjeld on the radio airwaves still to groove us. Also, don’t forget those proverbial Beef Vegan sayings—“Drive safe, Ride safe and Rock local!” I certainly won’t because I live those words and I have you to thank.
