Suddenly, there she was, in living color, running and dancing towards the stage, and playing her violin! The crowd rose to their feet, cheering! She hit the stage like a ball of fire, from the moment she started, and kept this same energy level until the show was over, never taking a break except for quick wardrobe and violin changes. Lindsey Stirling was truly like a combination of mythical creatures: Fairy, Pixie, and Sprite all rolled up into one.
There were times she did not appear human at all, as she played the violin, dancing and jumping all over the stage, almost looking as if she was flying! I was really expected to see Fairy dust sprinkling off of her when she jumped off of the stairs sometimes! She was accompanied on stage with her keyboardist, her drummer, and sometimes her 4 talented back-up dancers, but none of these dancers could dance quite as magnificently as Lindsey.
This tour, ‘Brave Enough’, which is the same name of her latest album recently released this past August, was dedicated to her former keyboardist and best friend of 4 years, Jason Gaviati, also known by her and his friends as ‘Gavi’. Unfortunately, Gavi died on November 21, 2015 from his short battle with cancer. Three-quarters of the way into the concert, she shared with us about Gavi, and how they were working on a song together, but he died before they were able to finish it. She eventually finished it, and named it Gavi’s Song. She played it for us, and there was barely a dry eye in the venue, mine included. It was truly beautiful! He would have been so proud of how it turned out. All and all, this was truly a ‘one of a kind’ type concert, WELL WORTH SEEING!
