I had been meaning to see Little Dragon in concert since about 2010, and after seeing them on Sunday night, I can say that they have all the presence and charisma of a stadium act. Firing on all cylinders, they performed a very dance-oriented set, playing a lot of material from their newest, great album, Season High. Slowing down for only a few tracks, including the standout High, they kept the energy going all the way through the 5-song encore.
Yukimi is a vibrant frontman, conjuring magic from the other musicians and commanding the attention of the crowd. Interestingly enough, the show had a bit of an EDM vibe, with the powerful synth basses bumping heavily and hearty doses of 4-on-the-floor throughout the night. On Season High, Little Dragon sound like they're creating an album to be played in stadiums. On Sunday night, they turned Livewire into a stadium.
