Tuesday night at The Van Buren was full of nothing but good vibes and great music. Party Nails started the night off with a stage decorated in flowers and pride flags. Their performance was full of life with such fun and upbeat songs. I hadn't heard any of their music prior to this show but I definitely will be adding at least a few songs to my Spotify playlists. My favorite from their set was their last song called "No Pressure". After their set they spent the rest of the show at their merch table meeting with everyone the rest of the night. Lights took the stage and the crowd went even more nuts as she opened up with one of her new songs, "Skydiving". She played a good handful of new songs in her set that I was excited to hear, as well as some tunes from her previous album. About halfway through her set she played "Portal" and the whole room felt so still like the music was just soaking into the crowd and walls and everything. Lights' set ended with "Up We Go" and she came up to the crowd barricade to be with her fans for part of it. I have yet to ever be disappointed with a Lights' performance. Pvris finished the night with more stellar performances and an entrancing light show. Everyone involved with the show made sure to create a safe space for everyone there and the energy in the room was about as positive and happy as you can get. Such a great lineup of artists.
