I had never seen Walk the Moon before, but I had heard a lot of great things, so the expectations were high. Those expectations were raised after the opening band, Company of Thieves, performed. There was so much energy in the room, especially for an opener. They definitely got the crowd ready for what was to come next.
Of course, as soon as the lights dimmed everyone lost their minds. You could feel the anticipation in the room as everyone was waiting for Walk the Moon to come on stage. Once they did, it was incredible. They started off the show with Press Restart, a song off of their newest album What if Nothing, which was utterly amazing. The entire show was extremely high energy, both from the band and the crowd which just grew throughout the night. It was one of those concerts where the band and the crowd just feed off of each other. I think the lead singer, Nicholas Petricca, is the most high energy performer I’ve ever seen. He was jumping and dancing around the stage the entire performance. Even the set on stage was incredible. There were rows of lights behind the band which made it a little harder to take pictures, but overall added energy and color to the already impressive performance. Walk the Moon definitely lived up to the hype. If anyone has the chance to see them, they absolutely should.
